An ethical issue is a problem or situation which requires a person or organization to choose between alternatives that must be evaluated as right or wrong (http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/ethical-issue.html). The Human Genome Project has many ethical issues associated with the research and the potential future projects. The initial proposal was to have the whole project become emphasized sequencing the entire Human Genome. This is controversial because mostly of the high costs. The goal was to have it cost at a reasonable price for researchers to complete the sequence. The "Human Genome Project" was completed in 2003. The government does have an obligation to be considered in this because its figuring out the importance of the human genome. The companies should balance the obligations by putting what matters most just like the “Human Genome Project”.
